3rd Alarm Equivalent - 12 Hallbank Terrace

East Command crews battled a blaze in a suspected Scarborough grow-op. Firefighting efforts were a challenge due to barred windows on the residence, and extremely cold temperatures.

3rd Alarm - 1369 Queen St. East

Rescue 326 found heavy smoke coming from a townhouse tucked away in the rear of a complex off Queen St. at Knox Ave., and advanced lines amongst reports of people trapped in the unit. A male victim was rescued and removed to hospital, while a female victim was pronounced dead on the scene. The fire began when the female victim, hooked up to an oxygen tank, lit a cigarette, causing the tank to explode.

2nd Alarm - 137 Jersey Ave.

Responding to 137 Jersey Ave., Station 315 crews were confronted with a fully involved deck at the rear of a couple of row houses. After the fire spread up the wall and into the attic, a 2nd alarm was requested by Chief 34. Three lines were stretched and the fire was quickly brought under control.
