Working Fire - 98 Mentor Blvd.

Crews from Station 113 arrived at 98 Mentor Blvd. to find heavy smoke coming from the basement of a semi-detached dwelling. Two lines were used to attack the blaze, and a third used for backup, as crews feared the fire had spread up through the walls due to heavy smoke migration to the attic. After knocking down the bulk of the flames, it was determined the fire had not spread beyond the kitchen in a basement apartment. One victim was removed and transported to hospital.

2nd Alarm - 5 Brahms Ave.

Pumper 113 was first on the scene of this Toronto Housing building on Brahms Ave., and pulled a 2nd alarm when they found heavy smoke on the 2nd floor. Although it turned out to be burnt food, two residents were treated on the scene for smoke inhalation.

For the 4th consecutive year, Pumper 332 led the TFS with 4,725 total runs.

Car 33, out of the same station actually had 4,755 runs, but once again, P332 was the busiest engine, a title it has held since overtaking P314 in 2005.

Passing on a note from Mike Filey (who by the way is a new contributor to the blog, welcome Mike!), does anyone have a picture of the old North York hall that was at Finch and Weston? The Emery Village BIA from that area is looking for some photos to help them depict the old hall on a new mural they are working on.
