R411
Toronto Fire has taken delivery of the first of seven new
Spartan/ Smeal rescue pumpers. This one will be assigned
to R411, and go into service as soon as all four shifts are trained.
so then will the old rescue trucks 411 235 224 and so on become spare pumpers or spare rescues and would be spares for front line rescue trucks when they are getting repairs done?
I am not impressed at all with the new look. I guess the city is really short of money. This rig just looks like the last batch of pumps. No chrome wheels and no painted coach work...
I expect these new seven will begin replacing the oldest Rescue's in the fleet. I think it's safe to say some of the replaced rigs, like the current R235 and R224 will become spares.
I work at 224 and we are getting one of these new trucks. they said sometime this month, but that doesn't seem like enough time. Rumour also has it that once older rescues like 224,235,115,411 get replaced they are looking at putting rescues downtown - heard 312, 315
I am sure it's a safe bet R115, R133, R224, R235, R341, and R411 will be replaced. That leaves one more. My guess would be 312 or 315. If 315 gets it, there pumps goes to 211, 322 or 323, likewise if 312 gets a new rig.
Whats the deal with the strange paint job ???

I herd one of these might be going to 312.
