3rd Alarm - 1369 Queen St. East
Rescue 326 found heavy smoke coming from a townhouse tucked away in the rear of a complex off Queen St. at Knox Ave., and advanced lines amongst reports of people trapped in the unit. A male victim was rescued and removed to hospital, while a female victim was pronounced dead on the scene. The fire began when the female victim, hooked up to an oxygen tank, lit a cigarette, causing the tank to explode.
