Pumper 213 Rescue 231

P213 and R231 on scene of a report of vehicle accident with fire. R231 was cleared by P213 about a minute after arriving.

Midtown crews requested a 2nd alarm when they saw flames and heavy smoke coming from the 24th floor of this Yonge & St.Clair hi-rise. Initial reports were that a teen-aged male was trapped on the balcony, but when P311 and P312 crews tried to gain entry they found the door heavily barricaded. Crews were finally able to force entry, and a 15 year old male was removed to ambulance. The apartment sustained heavy damage to the kitchen and a bedroom, and a female in the apartment above was treated for smoke inhalation. The 15 year old victim is to face questioning on arson charges.

Vehicle Accident With Entrapment

Sheppard Ave. East & Morningside Ave.

Responding Units: Pumper 212, Rescue 214

Squad 232, Car 21

Pumper 212 arrived on the scene of a vehicle accident on Sheppard Ave. east of Morningside and found an unconscious person trapped in his vehicle. The victim had driven his SUV into the path of a TTC bus while exiting a fast food restaurant. With the help of Rescue 214, crews freed the victim and began CPR, but unfortunately the injuries proved fatal.
